Parking How
much does Domain Parking cost?
Domain Parking customers
pay only the registrar fee of $15.00USD for one year, or
$30.00USD
for two. Domain Parking customers can upgrade to a Personal
Identity Account at any time for a one-time charge of $15.00USD.
Subsequent renewals will then be charged the full Personal Identity
Account fee.
All fees paid to DNL Web are non-refundable and non-transferable
once the domain name has been registered. Upgrade fees are non-refundable
and non-transferable once the upgrade is complete.
What
services do I receive with Domain Parking?
With domain parking
you get to secure your domain name so that nobody else get to
register it. You may keep it parked until you decide where you
want it to point and who do you want to be authoritative over
that name (whose DNS servers will hold your record). It matters
who is authoritative because if you give an unreliable server
you domain authority, whenever the server is down, nobody will
be able to resolve your domain.
What
does it mean to "park" a domain name?
In order for you to
register a domain name you need a Domain Name System (DNS) server
to host it. When you register a domain name with DNL Web, we are
hosting your domain name on our DNS. We are holding or "parking"
the domain name for you. You have the option to move your domain
name off of our servers to another Internet Service Provider
(ISP) or host provider at any time.
I
have received an e-mail which says that my domain has been registered,
but I can't see the Under Construction page. Why?
When you receive the
e-mail confirming the registration of your new domain, there
are many more steps still to be done behind the scenes. Your
domain will be entered into the global WHOIS database, and your
registration must travel to all the ISPs in the world. It will
be 24-48 hours after you receive the confirmation e-mail before
you will be able to see your Under Construction page with your
web browser.
